Is a hair stylist/dresser supposed to be fast or slow?

Would you prefer a quick working hair stylist (who has much experience) Or a slow hair stylist...

And why please.

I live in Missouri my mom does hair, she has been doing it for around 20 years now and works quick. She knows whats shes doing, not not measure things, and people she works with believe that a SLOW hair stylist is best? Whaaat?

Whats it like in New York, Calirfornia, etc.Is a hair stylist/dresser supposed to be fast or slow?
Speed doesn't always matter. The end result does. A good stylist can give you the look you want without ruining your hair. I don't want to sit in the chair all day for a simple color and cut, but when you work too quickly you can sometimes make mistakes (missing spots that needed coloring, uneven cuts). It all depends on what work you're having done, how long/thick the hair is, etc.

Hiya.

Your haircut sounds nice! Just make sure you don't have split ends.

Just try out some different styles, whatever you're comfortable with.

I go on youtube.com and search some cool hairstyles and tips. I also look in magazines at celeb's styles and see which one i think would suit me. My favorite's is beach waves, which is wavy hair (but not frizzy) and it looks really nice!xxCalling All Hair Dressers/Stylists!! Plz Help :-S?
Wow. Your hair sounds really nice. It sounds like you can choose from a lot of styles. I would suggest purchasing a professional stylist book of styles or checking out various styles online. Please consider your hair texture when making your choice. Hair texture will determine how well the style holds.

Maybe you can convince mom that cutting your hair is a good idea. If you visit http://www.haironsale.com you can list your hair for sale with up to 3 color photos. You can make some good money and sport a brand new style. They do not charge a commission. What you make is your so keep!

I've got dark brown; or a rich black, colored hair. It find it boring. I've got healthy hair, it's got a shine

to it; and I look after it well.

Heres the twist, I'd really like to go a dirty blonde. I love that color. Here are the questions.

    (a. How many times would I have to bleach my hair?

    (b. Do I strip my hair, and bleach it in the same day?

    (c. Can I strip my hair; and then add the dirty blonde? Will it still be orange?

    (d. How many times will I have to strip my hair?

    (e. Should I bleach my hair, dye it a light brown, then wait a month and then add heavy highlights?

Thanks in advance - please don't tell me to go to a hairdressers, the place where I live there is

only one hairdressers and money is tight there. They have put up the prices by $200 and I simply

cannot offord those striking prices. Getting my hair stripped and bleached (I've checked this

    myself) costs $670.

There are no college hair things around here since it's a small town.

Thanks in advance!!Please help me ! HAIR DRESSERS/ HAIR STYLISTS ANYONE ?
Good god, Give people time to answer your question. Depending on how many times you have colored your hair, and how much build you have, It will take alot of bleaches, because when you have build up in your hair, The bleach won't lighten the ends. The roots, Yes, The ends no. You can bleach the hair in one sitting, As long as you don't go over the yellow blonde stages(Which really, You don't need to go that light, You just go light enough to color your hair.).You don't need to strip your hair, It does the same thing. You can add the color and highlights the same day. That's usually what people do.Please help me ! HAIR DRESSERS/ HAIR STYLISTS ANYONE ?
Depending on how may times you have colored your hair will determine how hard it will be to make your hair a blonde color. Normally hairdressers will bleach and strip the color out but it will take some time. However your hair will turn out a redy sort of colour because hair is made up of mostly black and red pigments. You will cause quite a bit of damage unfortunately if you plan to go through with this.

    Good Luck.
just keep in mind what your eyebrows will look like. I don't know if you would bleach those

Question for hair stylists/dressers and professionals?

i dye my hair black i do it at home with the do it yourself kind and i wanted to know if dyeing the hair has any negative effect on the scalp later on such as permanent scalp damage or hair loss and also can dyeing hair cause bald spots later on in life? and also i was just wondering if dyeing your hair lighter than its natural color damages your hair more than dyeing it darker than your natural color for example if you have medium brown hair would it hurt your hair more to dye it blond then dyeing it black? and also how often should i get my roots touched up so that it doesnt hurt my scalp?Question for hair stylists/dressers and professionals?
You will not have any permanent scalp or follicular problems from hair color. If not done right, you can damage your hair but it's nothing the ole' shears and some time won't cure!

Yes, going lighter is more damaging to the hair than going darker. When going lighter the color needs a more alkaline pH to assist in the removal of natural melanin. This in itself is what damages the hair. When doing the ';kitchen cosmo'; act with your hair and you're going darker stick with a ';Demi Permanent'; color. It's job is to simply deposit color. The difference between ';Demi Permanent'; and ';Permanent'; hair color is that the demi colors do not have the capacity to remove natural melanin. Since you're only going darker that's all you need! Make sure you are using professional shampoos and conditioners designed for color treated hair as these will save the integrity of your hair and keep it from fading. \

Your schedule for touch ups really is an individual decision. But if you don't deviate from your natural level by more than 2 levels lighter or darker you can go longer between touch ups.Question for hair stylists/dressers and professionals?
sometimes it do it's just better if you went to the salon sweety next time dont do that becuz your hair cant always take them chemicals

Hair dressers/stylists/experts: I need your help on deciding for a color?

Okay so I have dirty blonde hair, it's more brown than actually blonde. And it's just really boring and I'm interested in dying it blonde. And I found a picture of a hair color that I'm considering, but what do I tell my stylist when I want it dyed that color? I've never gotten my hair dyed before, and I can't print the picture out to show her

    So what would I say?

Generally they have a colour chart. When you want to dye, they will show this colour chart for you. And then you can choose the colour you want.Hair dressers/stylists/experts: I need your help on deciding for a color?
I actually go for a strawberry red. Red looks really good on most people with brownish hair.

    Hair Dressers/Stylists...I have a question...?

I'm going to get my hair done at a salon for the first time in ages. One of my friends has cut my hair for years %26amp; she has moved out of state. I want to get a cut with highlights and lowlights. How much will this cost? Like, what is the average?

    Thanks!Hair Dressers/Stylists...I have a question...?
It depends on the legnth of your hair...and how harsh your color is now and how light you'd like to go...but it's usually around %26amp;90.00 to %26amp;110.00Hair Dressers/Stylists...I have a question...?
It really depends on how nice the salon is. If you want really cheap prices, a beauty school would be the best place.
Yes you may receive this service at a local beauty school, but I suggest you visit a salon with a master colorist. Hair color is a tricky thing and requires a certain level of time the colorist has been in the business. Of coures it will cost more, but you will look good! If there is a school that teaches only hair color in your area, that may work. If you see someone with the service you want, ask them where they go.
    a place like 'Rolf's' anywhere from $225-275

    a place like 'Laqueesha's Hair %26amp; Nails' $100

a place like 'Your Kitchen' $25
For the average salon it is based on length.

    Short hair - $45-$60

    Medium - $55-$80

    Long - $65- $100

    Super Long - $100+
My sister wants that and she asked the hair cutter.

How do i keep my hair straight? Hair dressers/stylists!!?

well i straighten my hair, but it is like shoulder length, so it curls on my shouldrs and its like when i get to school its all curly, do you know anything i could put on it or any shampoo to use to keep it straight?

i have tried herbal essences seductivley straight and that did not work.

Oh and i have wavy hair, so i straighten most days.

    its so ANNOYING!!

please help!!How do i keep my hair straight? Hair dressers/stylists!!?
The reason your hair does this is because it is trying to fit the shape of your shoulders.

one way to prevent this is to put a small amount of hairspray on the ends of your hair before and after you straighten it.How do i keep my hair straight? Hair dressers/stylists!!?
You can get GHD's which are the straighteners used in salons. also put on hair serum. When you straighten your hair make sure you do it in sections as this way all of your hair will be straight. You can also use hairspray to hold it. i have also used john frieda straight hair range and find it helps me on days i dont straighten my hair.
